Jikiden Reiki
RELAX, REBALANCE, RECONNECT
Jikiden Reiki is based on the same principle as other Eastern therapies, such as acupuncture and reflexology. It is believed that every person, animal, and plant has energy flowing through them. The energy is the life force within the body; it is called Ki (or chi). When you are well, it flows fluently; however, when the flow is interrupted, then that is when you can become ill. Like acupuncture and reflexology, Reiki is a way to help develop the flow of the Ki and therefore prompts the body's natural ability to heal itself. Some people like to chat, whilst others like to remain silent. Sometimes the person becomes relaxed and can fall asleep. Others find they can go into a relaxed, meditative state. When the body is relaxed, it prompts the body’s natural ability to heal itself. There is no right way; it's what you and your body need.

There are several different types of Reiki. I practice Jikiden Reiki, the word "Jikiden" means "directly handed down" in Japanese. Jikiden Reiki is closely aligned with the Reiki Gokai (Precepts) for Health and Happiness, authored by Mikao Usui. Western Reiki, (the Reiki more well-known in the West) was also founded by Mikao Usui, but when it came to the West, things were adapted and changed to help further Western understanding.
When I give Reiki, the person is normally fully clothed, lying on the ‘Reiki’ bed, the lights are off, and I place my hands on the body. I then move my hands to where I feel the energy needs to go. At the end, I perform Ketsueki Kokan Ho, similar to a massage (not like a traditional massage), which aids the body in the release of toxins.

I can treat people and animals, both in person and distantly. To perform distance reiki, all I need is a few details from you. I have also been trained in dealing with psychological issues, such as addictions and phobias.
Allow up to 1.5 hours for a session. This will give us time to chat before and after the session. In-person sessions cost $70.
I find in-person sessions are usually better, but I can offer Enkaku Chiryo (or Enkaku Reiki) - distance treatments, which cost $60 a session, which lasts 1 hour. I will discuss the best time for the treatment with you and send a message after the end of the session.
